Turkish Cymbals Sehzade Crash – Warm, Expressive and Controlled
The Sehzade series by Turkish Cymbals – Turkish for “Crown Prince” – is one of the most versatile series in the entire Turkish Cymbals range. Its unique feature is the three-zone surface structure: the outer edge is lathed and bright, a characteristic wide unlathed middle ring gives the sound dark depth and earthy character, and the unlathed bell delivers a dry, clear bell tone. The underside is lathed. This combination creates a cymbal that develops different tonal properties depending on playing position: brighter, energetic response at the outer edge – drier, defined response in the unlathed middle zone. The result is an instrument of extraordinary musicality and versatility.
Sound Character: Warm, Open and Musical
The Sehzade Crash in 16”, 17” and 18” unites the warm, organic fundamental character of the Sehzade series with an expressive, dynamic crash response. The three-zone surface – lathed edge, unlathed middle ring, unlathed bell – gives the crash a complex tonal depth: the attack is bright and direct, the decay warm and musical with organic depth. The 16” model is drier and more direct, the 17” model more balanced, the 18” model more voluminous with longer sustain.
