Turkish Cymbals China & Effect Cymbals

China and effect cymbals are the creative spice in any drum kit – fast, trashy accents, explosive stops and exotic tone colours that make a setup unmistakable. At Turkish Cymbals, each of these cymbals is made 100% by hand in Istanbul: cast from premium B20 bronze (80% copper, 20% tin), hand-hammered and lathed. The result is an aggressive, trashy sound with immediate response and short decay.

China, Swish, Stack & Holey – the whole world of effects

Our range runs from the classic China with a turned-down edge through Swish and Pang cymbals to modern effect sounds. For dry, exotic trash accents in jazz, funk and fusion, the raw Chinas of the Kurak series are ideal, while the Apex series delivers explosive stops with its wide, turned-down edge. Anyone after short, aggressive effects for rock, jungle and progressive will find creative potential in the holey cymbals of the Sirius series and the cut spiral shapes of the Comet series. The Stack series provides clappy stack sounds for electronic grooves, while the experimental sounds of the Soundscape series open up entirely new sonic worlds.

Construction & character – what matters

Classic Chinas with a turned-down edge deliver the typically trashy, cutting tone, while Reverse Bell models offer a faster, shorter response. In holey cymbals the holes take sustain away from the sound, stacks create a short, clappy effect, and Pang cymbals combine China character with longer vibrations. Whether as a striking main effect or a fine splash of colour, there is a matching cymbal for every creative idea.
