Turkish Cymbals Rhythm & Soul Series

The Rhythm & Soul series from Turkish Cymbals brings a warm, controlled cymbal sound to groove-based music. It all starts with B20 bronze, hand-cast into cymbals in Istanbul; dense hammering follows, leaving lots of small, shallow hammer marks. The surface remains unpolished; a special process gives bow and bell a matte patina whose dark spots recall a leopard's coat.

Warm sound, focused ping, Medium-Thin

Sonically, these cymbals sit in the middle ground between dry and bright models: warm and medium-dark, with controlled wash and sustain. The Medium-Thin build is what makes them respond fast; the dense hammering and unpolished surface together rein in the attack, and the B20 bronze supplies the warmth. On the Ride and on the bells, you hear a clear, focused ping. The series sounds its best at medium volume.

Musical styles and cymbals in the series

Rhythm & Soul is made above all for soul, funk and R'n'B, but it is also at home in Latin, jazz-fusion and contemporary styles. Three models are available: the Rhythm & Soul Ride with its warm ping and lively bell, the Rhythm & Soul Crash with its direct, controlled attack and the Rhythm & Soul Hi-Hat with its dry, crisp chick.
