Turkish Cymbals Sehzade Hi-Hat – Warm, Dark and Distinctive
The Sehzade series by Turkish Cymbals – Turkish for “Crown Prince” – is one of the most versatile series in the entire Turkish Cymbals range. Its unique feature is the three-zone surface structure: the outer edge is lathed and bright, a characteristic wide unlathed middle ring gives the sound dark depth and earthy character, and the unlathed bell delivers a dry, clear bell tone. The underside is lathed. This combination creates a cymbal that develops different tonal properties depending on playing position: brighter, energetic response at the outer edge – drier, defined response in the unlathed middle zone. The result is an instrument of extraordinary musicality and versatility.
Sound Character: Full, Dark and Earthy
The Sehzade Hi-Hat in 14” and 15” offers a warm, dark and earthy sound with a pronounced yet soft chick tone. The full, round character provides a balanced sound – both when played closed and open. The stick sound has a woody quality that is particularly valued in Jazz, Funk and Soul. Played closed it delivers a clearly defined, full chick. Played open a warm, dark wash develops with organic depth. The 15” model offers even more body and depth.
