The Zephyros Holey cymbals are created from the thin-walled Zephyros base – and are transformed into unique effect cymbals by the precise drilling of numerous holes of varying sizes. Unlike the Sirius series with its 6 evenly spaced holes, the Zephyros Holey cymbals have many holes of different sizes distributed across the entire playing surface – for an even shorter, drier and characteristically atmospheric sound. The dark, coal-black texture of the Holey surface is visually distinct from the terracotta tone of the regular Zephyros cymbals.

Sound Character: Dry, Trashy and Atmospheric

The Zephyros Crash Holey in 16” and 18” is an effect cymbal of a special kind. The numerous holes of varying sizes drastically reduce air resistance – the result is a short, dry and characteristically atmospheric sound with almost no sustain. The dark Zephyros fundamental character is preserved: not a bright, aggressive trash cymbal, but an organic, dark effect cymbal with a unique sound character. The 16” model is more direct, the 18” model offers more body.
