Turkish Cymbals Jazz Crash – Warm Depth
The Jazz series by Turkish Cymbals is the answer to a timeless question: how does a cymbal sound that is completely in service of the music? Deeply hammered, with a characteristic surface full of pronounced hammer strikes and a traditional, non-brilliant finish, this series delivers a warm, dark and multi-layered sound that adapts like a chameleon to playing intensity and technique. A delicate brush stroke sounds different from a firm stick strike – and that is precisely what makes these cymbals so musical.
Sound Character: Warm, Dark and Musical
The Jazz Crash in sizes 16", 17" and 18" combines fast response with a warm, dark decay. The 16" model responds directly and drily – ideal for precise, controlled accents. The 17" model delivers a medium-bright attack with warm decay and musical sustain. The 18" model develops the fullest sonic character of the three: a warm attack with rich, longer sustain that combines ideally with dark ride cymbals. The deep hammer strikes of the Jazz series give every crash sound an organic texture and complexity unachievable in machine-made cymbals. The Medium-Thin construction ensures a sensitive response to every nuance of playing – from the gentlest touch to the most powerful accent.
Applications: Traditional Jazz, Jazz-Fusion, Soul, R'n'B and Funk
The Jazz Crash is a genuine all-rounder with strong character. In Traditional Jazz it sets delicate, warm accents with organic depth. In Jazz-Fusion the combination of fast response and musical decay delivers. In Soul and R'n'B it delivers heartfelt crash moments with substance. In Funk it sets dry, precise accents without excessive wash. Thanks to its versatility and adaptive sonic character, this cymbal is suited to drummers at home across different styles.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every Jazz cymbal is crafted in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul following a tradition that reaches back centuries. The B20 bronze alloy – 80% copper, 20% tin – is hand-cast, heated and deeply and intensively hand-hammered by experienced master craftsmen. The pronounced hammer strikes are no accident – they are the artisan heart of this series and produce the characteristic warm, complex tone. We at Cymballand are proud, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, to bring this craftsmanship directly to you – without intermediaries, at the best price.
