Turkish Cymbals NJG Crash – Dynamic, Dark and Controlled
The NJG series (New Jazz Generation) by Turkish Cymbals takes a new approach to jazz cymbal sound: dry, dark, controlled and short. The core of this series is its unique surface – a brush-like finish that creates an even, matte and granular texture on both sides of the cymbal. This texture shortens sustain, reduces uncontrolled overtones and produces an earthy, focused tonal character unreachable with polished or traditional cymbals. The stick sound remains warm and musical – the NJG series sounds dark and controlled without becoming sterile or lifeless.
Sound Character: Open, Dark and Expressive
The NJG Crash in 17” and 18” is the most expressive cymbal in the series. Compared to the ride models it offers a more open vibration and a more dynamic tonal character – it sounds warmer and fuller while retaining the dark, controlled fundamental character of the NJG series. The brush-like finish produces a balanced blend of dark tones and bright response, while the fine hammering gives the cymbal musicality and tonal nuance. The 17” model is drier and more direct, the 18” model offers more body and longer sustain.
Applications: Blues, Jazz-Fusion, Latin, Soul, R’n’B and Funk
The NJG Crash is ideal for drummers seeking expressive crash accents with a dark, controlled tonal character. In Blues and Traditional Jazz it sets delicate, warm accents with organic depth. In Jazz-Fusion it delivers dynamic, expressive crash moments. In Latin, Soul, R’n’B and Funk the combination of directness and musical depth works well for precise accents.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every NJG cymbal is crafted in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul from the secret B20 bronze alloy – 80% copper, 20% tin – hand-cast, heated and hammered by experienced master craftsmen. The brush-like finish is the result of a special surface treatment process requiring artisan skill and deep material knowledge. We at Cymballand are proud, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, to bring this series directly to you – without intermediaries, at the best price.

Let customers speak for us
Vielen Dank 🤗
Good dark, complex crash
Really dark, loud hihats, works good as secondary hats for blastbeats when set not too washy.
Great Cymbal.
