Turkish Cymbals Dark Hammer Ride – Dark Precision
The Dark Hammer series by Turkish Cymbals is unmistakable at first glance: horizontal stripes of alternating lathed and unlathed zones run across the entire surface – a visual fingerprint that simultaneously defines the acoustic principle of this series. Through a combination of precise lathing, artisan hammering and a special acid treatment process, a surface structure is created that makes the sound drier, more direct and more articulate than smooth standard surfaces. The result: a series with its own character – fast, loud and with clear stick definition.
Sound Character: Dry, Loud and Clearly Defined
The Dark Hammer Ride is the centrepiece of the series – a ride cymbal that communicates its character clearly in every situation. The stick sound is dry, direct and loud, with a clear stick definition that articulates every groove with precision. The wash remains controlled and dark – no shimmer flooding the mix, but an earthy, focused sonic character. The deep, clearly defined bell provides powerful bell accents with a dark, rich tone. In sizes 20", 21", 22" and 24", the sound grows with the size: the 20" model responds fastest, the 24" model offers maximum volume and depth.
Applications: Traditional Jazz, Jazz-Fusion, Soul, R'n'B, Latin, Funk and Grunge
The Dark Hammer Ride excels across a wide musical spectrum thanks to its rare combination of dryness and volume. In Traditional Jazz it delivers a controlled, dark ride sound with excellent articulation. In Jazz-Fusion and Latin, the clear stick definition enables precise, complex rhythmic patterns. In Soul, R'n'B and Funk, the dry, focused sound carries the groove without unnecessary overtones. In Grunge it projects powerfully against amplifier walls – loud, clear, impossible to ignore.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every Dark Hammer cymbal is crafted in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul following a tradition that reaches back centuries. The B20 bronze alloy – 80% copper, 20% tin – is hand-cast, heated and hammered thousands of times by experienced master craftsmen. The characteristic stripe pattern is created through a special process of lathing and acid treatment – a process that demands artisan precision and deep material knowledge. We at Cymballand are proud, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, to bring this craftsmanship directly to you – without intermediaries, at the best price.

Let customers speak for us
Vielen Dank 🤗
Good dark, complex crash
Really dark, loud hihats, works good as secondary hats for blastbeats when set not too washy.
Great Cymbal.
