Turkish Cymbals Xanthos-Cast Splash – Fast, Dark and Explosive
The Xanthos-Cast series by Turkish Cymbals has an unmistakable surface structure: the bell is lathed and brightly polished – a powerful, focused bell tone with a clear ping. The remaining bow is fully unlathed, deeply hammered and dark polished – the deep hammer strikes produce a characteristically dark brilliance that is neither raw nor classically brilliant. The result is a dark, harmonic sound with a sharp, powerful punch: dark overtones with forceful highs and mids, controlled sustain and an organic depth that sounds unique in this combination.
Sound Character: Fast, Dark and Direct
The Xanthos-Cast Splash in 8” and 10” brings the characteristic dark sound of the Xanthos-Cast series to the smallest cymbal format. The attack is immediate and explosive – the deep hammer strikes produce a dark, powerful splash sound with fast, controlled decay. The 8” model is more direct and drier, the 10” model offers somewhat more body.
Applications: Metal, Rock, Progressive Rock and Blues
In Metal and Rock the Xanthos-Cast Splash sets dark, explosive accents with a unique character. In Progressive Rock it is a creative effect instrument for unconventional phrasing. In Blues it creates organic, distinctive tonal colours.
