Turkish Cymbals Euphonic Crash – Explosive with a dark decay
The Euphonic Crash by Turkish Cymbals is a crash cymbal with an explosive attack and a dark, full ring-out. Its surface is unlathed and matte and shows the marks of the hammer – only the wide band around the edge is polished. The polished edge delivers the clear initial strike, the matte surface the subdued depth behind it. It has a Medium-Thin build and speaks easily.
Sound character: explosive, dark and full
The attack is clear and punchy, and then the sound darkens and rounds out. The decay is medium-length – long enough for the accent to resonate fully, yet short enough to stay out of the following bars. A 17" is drier and more direct; a 20" gives you more volume and sustain.
Applications: rock, pop, blues, progressive and contemporary
The Euphonic Crash is aimed at drummers looking for powerful accents with a dark character. In rock, pop-rock and modern pop, it launches choruses with real force and sets off breaks clearly, without turning harsh. In blues, it underlines the high points of a song with a round, full sound. In prog, it can be finely controlled, from a quick tap to a full crash. For a ride to match, there’s the Euphonic Ride, with the same subdued voice.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every Euphonic cymbal is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. Then comes the two-part finish: lathing and polishing for the fairly wide edge, an acid bath for the bow and bell. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, every Euphonic cymbal sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
