Turkish Cymbals Rock Beat Crash – Bright, full, long sustain
With seven sizes, the Rock Beat Crash offers the widest choice in the series. This Medium-Thin crash cymbal sounds bright and full.
Sound character: bright attack, long sustain
A bright attack opens every crash, after which the cymbal rings on for a long while. How long is down to the size: the 14" is direct and short, the sustain grows with each larger model, and the 22" finally fades out broad and voluminous. The Crash also cuts right through distorted guitars.
Applications: blues, contemporary, progressive and rock
With the Crash, you highlight transitions in contemporary styles and mark the end of a chorus in blues songs. In rock, crashes land on the downbeat of the chorus, while in progressive rock you underline time changes and breaks. Small sizes suit quick accents, large ones the big moments that keep ringing. A thinner crash with a shorter decay is the Rock Beat Crash Thin; on the ride side, the Rock Beat Ride makes a good match.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every cymbal in the Rock Beat series is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. Once the cymbal has been lathed, it is polished by hand to a mirror gloss. This polishing compresses the bronze and gives the cymbal its bright sound. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, each one sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
