Turkish Cymbals Studio Crash – Clear, powerful and balanced
The Studio Crash is a Medium-Heavy crash cymbal with a top surface divided into three zones: the rim and bell are raw and polished, and between them lies a lathed section with a brilliant polish.
Sound character: bright, direct and musical
The Studio Crash speaks with a direct, expressive attack, and the brilliant middle brings brightness and projection. Its decay is balanced and organic, while the rim and bell give the sound a warm underlying tone. The 14" is the most direct and driest, the 16" and 17" sit in between, and the 18" sounds the fullest, with the longest sustain.
Applications: contemporary, funk, jazz, pop, R'n'B and rock
The Studio Crash brings enough power for rock and pop, and precise accents with a balanced character for funk and R'n'B. In jazz, it stays warm and musical despite its brightness. You'll find the 16" in the Studio Set 1 along with a hi-hat and a ride, while the Studio Set 2 adds the 18".
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every cymbal in the Studio series is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. After that, the area between the rim and the bell is lathed, as is the entire underside. The rim and the bell stay raw, but they are polished just like the rest of the surface; on the rim, you can clearly see the hammer marks. Before a cymbal leaves the workshops, it is tested individually by hand. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, each one sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
