Turkish Cymbals Studio Hi-Hat – Precise, warm and musical
The Studio Hi-Hat consists of two Medium-Heavy hi-hat cymbals, the bottom cymbal being heavier than the top one. Both feature the raw, polished rim, the lathed middle with its brilliant finish and the raw bell of the Studio series.
Sound character: clear, warm and balanced
The Studio Hi-Hat has a fast, lively response, and its chick is clear, warm and well accented. Closed, the hi-hat gives a defined, direct tone under the stick. As you open it, the wash keeps its balance – neither too wide nor too dry. Compared with the 14", the 15" brings more volume and depth.
Applications: contemporary, funk, jazz, pop, R'n'B and rock
Rock and pop songs get strong, clearly defined patterns from the Studio Hi-Hat. In funk and R'n'B, its warm, well-accented chick sits right in the pocket, and in jazz you benefit from its wide dynamic range. The Studio Hi-Hat Light responds faster and more openly; the 14" is also included in the Studio Set 1 and the Studio Set 2.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every cymbal in the Studio series is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. After that, the area between the rim and the bell is lathed, as is the entire underside. The rim and the bell stay raw, but they are polished just like the rest of the surface; on the rim, you can clearly see the hammer marks. Before a cymbal leaves the workshops, it is tested individually by hand. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, each one sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
