Turkish Cymbals Euphonic Hi-Hat – Clear chick, dark undertone
The Euphonic Hi-Hat by Turkish Cymbals is a pair of hi-hat cymbals with a modern sound, a sharp chick and a dark tonal colour. Both cymbals carry the Euphonic finish: around the outside, a wide edge ring polished to a high gloss; towards the centre, unlathed, acid-treated bronze with a matte surface. The polished edge makes for a clear attack, while the matte area keeps the sound controlled. Like the Euphonic Ride, it is a Medium-Heavy model.
Sound character: sharp, precise and full-bodied
The chick comes through short and sharp. On the closed hi-hat, even fast eighth- and sixteenth-note figures played with sticks stay distinct. Ease it open slightly and you get a dark, full wash that carries the band instead of covering it up. In 14", it sounds more direct and drier; in 15", fuller and warmer.
Applications: rock, pop, blues, progressive and contemporary
The Euphonic Hi-Hat suits drummers who want their hi-hat sound subdued rather than glaring. In rock, pop-rock and modern pop productions, every stroke lands right in the pocket. In blues, half-open backing figures sound soft and relaxed with the dark wash underneath. In prog, it traces even intricate figures in odd time signatures cleanly. Add the Euphonic Crash, and your setup sounds cohesive and dark from end to end.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every Euphonic cymbal is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. Then comes the two-part finish: lathing and polishing for the fairly wide edge, an acid bath for the bow and bell. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, every Euphonic cymbal sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
