Turkish Cymbals Jazz Crash Thin – Fast and sensitive
With the Jazz Crash Thin, even the lightest strokes are enough. As a Thin crash cymbal, it responds faster and more sensitively than the Medium-Thin Jazz Crash; it shares the deep hammer marks, the Traditional finish and the warm, colourful sound with the rest of the series.
Sound character: fast response, shorter decay
Its sound is a touch brighter and more direct, and the decay is shorter. That lets you play several accents in quick succession without them overlapping. Here, too, the deep hammer marks keep the sustain under control.
Applications: traditional jazz, jazz-fusion, soul, R'n'B and funk
In jazz-fusion grooves, the Jazz Crash Thin gives you tight rhythmic accents; in funk, short crashes in the breaks that quickly make way again. In traditional jazz, it responds finely to brushes, and mallets get it singing right away, too. In soul and R'n'B, it drops small flecks of colour between the phrases. You’ll get more sustain from the Medium-Thin Jazz Crash.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every Jazz cymbal is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke; in the process, the Jazz series cymbals are given deep hammer marks. After that, every cymbal is lathed all over and receives a Traditional finish. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, each one sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
