Turkish Cymbals Jazz Ride Light – Open wash, easy response
Airier and more open than the Jazz Ride: the Jazz Ride Light is the Thin model among the ride cymbals of the Jazz series. It speaks easily, sounds warm and, like the whole series, has deep hammer marks and a Traditional finish.
Sound character: free-flowing wash, direct stick sound
Compared with the Medium-Thin model, the wash unfolds more freely, the stick sound is brighter and more direct, and the bell is clear and bright. The warm character of the series remains, and here, too, the deep hammer marks rein in the sustain. You can also crash the Jazz Ride Light and use it as a crash-ride.
Applications: traditional jazz, jazz-fusion, soul, R'n'B and funk
Beneath soul and R'n'B grooves, the open wash sits warmly. In traditional jazz, the Jazz Ride Light suits drummers who like an open ride, and if you play jazz-fusion, it gives you agile ride figures with a bright, direct stick sound. In funk, bell figures come through clearly. If you’re looking for a more balanced, more controlled wash, reach for the Jazz Ride.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every Jazz cymbal is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke; in the process, the Jazz series cymbals are given deep hammer marks. After that, every cymbal is lathed all over and receives a Traditional finish. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, each one sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
