Turkish Cymbals Rock Beat Raw Hi-Hat – Sharp chick, powerful stick sound
The weight class of the Rock Beat Raw Hi-Hat is Medium-Heavy; in its pair of hi-hat cymbals, the bottom weighs more than the top.
Sound character: cutting, clear and bright
Its chick has a sharp, cutting, clear sound. The closed hi-hat responds to stick strokes with power and definition. When it's open, its wash sounds bright. The 15" offers more volume and depth than the 14".
Applications: blues, grunge, metal, progressive and rock
Fast eighth notes in punk and metal stay clearly separated on this hi-hat, and in rock and grunge you open it up for loud choruses. You can play precise accents on it in progressive rock and blues as well. Rounding out the setup around the Hi-Hat are the Rock Beat Raw Ride and the Rock Beat Raw Crash from the same series.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every cymbal in the Rock Beat Raw series is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. As with the Kurak series, the bows and bells of both cymbals remain unlathed; unlike the Kurak, however, they are finally polished to a mirror gloss. On both sides, the hammer marks show through beneath the gloss. Polishing compacts the bronze, and the sound turns bright. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, each one sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
