Turkish Cymbals Soundscape Snake Ride – Dry stick sound with sizzle
Eight rivets, spaced evenly around the edge, make the Snake Ride the sizzle ride among Jarrod Cagwin's Soundscape models. Medium-Thin is the weight class of this ride cymbal.
Sound character: direct, delicate, with constant sizzle
On the Snake Ride, the stick sounds dry and direct. Over that, the rivets spread a sizzle which sets in at the softest contact and carries on evenly. Especially at low volume, the ride reacts with real finesse.
Applications: jazz-fusion, percussion, soundtrack and world music
The Snake Ride keeps the groove moving in jazz-fusion even when you play quietly. On world music projects and in percussion ensembles the rattle of its rivets mingles with the colours of hand percussion, while soundtrack sessions get atmospheric layers from it. Its natural counterpart is the Snake Hi-Hat, whose cymbals carry rivets as well.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every cymbal in the Soundscape series is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. Neither the face nor the bell of the Snake Ride is lathed afterwards. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, each one sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
