Turkish Cymbals Ephesus Ride Heavy – Full force
The Ephesus Ride Heavy by Turkish Cymbals is the heaviest model in the series: a ride cymbal with a Heavy build, thicker than the Ephesus Ride. It is made using the same process as every Ephesus cymbal. The extra weight brings more volume, an even more pronounced ping and a stronger bell.
Sound character: big, dark and cutting
The stick sound is loud and direct, with a clarity that holds up even in a dense band mix. The wash is full, but the sheer weight keeps it firmly in check. This is where the bell really comes into its own: it delivers a dark, strong bell sound that carries far and rings on for a long time. Add to that the metallic edge that defines the whole series. A 22" sounds a touch bigger and has more sustain than a 21".
Applications: metal, progressive and rock
The Ephesus Ride Heavy is the cymbal for drummers who play really loud without wanting to sacrifice character. In metal, ride patterns and bell accents punch through distorted guitars with ease. In prog, the heavy, expansive bow gives you room for complex figures. In rock, it keeps your groove clearly audible even on big stages. The slightly lighter version is the Ephesus Ride.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every Ephesus cymbal is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered on the top and bottom by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. After that, the surface is lathed very finely while the bell stays raw; an extra-fine re-hammering with special hammers completes the process. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, every Ephesus cymbal sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
