Turkish Cymbals FX Crash – Loud and short
The FX Crash by Turkish Cymbals is a crash cymbal for drummers looking for an explosive accent that dies away very quickly. Numerous small holes, spread across almost the entire surface, shorten the decay and give the sound a trashy edge. The FX Crash has a Thin build. Its high-gloss polish raises the pitch, brightens the sound and makes the cymbal respond very quickly.
Sound character: bright, glassy, quick to fade
First comes a loud, hard attack, and right after that the FX Crash is gone again – no long wash, no ring-out spilling over into the next bar. Through it all, the sound stays bright and trashy. With the 16", it’s drier and more direct; with the 18", more powerful and fuller.
Applications: rock, progressive, jungle, jazz-fusion and contemporary
The FX Crash is your cymbal for loud accents that don’t swamp the mix. Rock and prog drummers can use it to nail breaks and stops with a clear, punchy hit. If you play jungle or work with pads and samples in a hybrid setup, you get a crash cymbal that barely rings on, even in fast, dense grooves. In jazz-fusion, it lets you add short dabs of colour rather than a big, sprawling crash. As a second effect cymbal from the series, the FX China goes well with it.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every FX cymbal is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. After that, the cymbals are lathed; the holes are made by machine. The China and Crash are polished to a high gloss, while the Hi-Hat gets a Traditional finish. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, every FX cymbal sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
