The Raw Dark series by Turkish Cymbals was developed for drummers seeking a powerful, dark and extremely dry sound – without compromise. Like the Prestige-TR series, Raw Dark cymbals have a special black finish – not lacquer, but a chemical treatment of the B20 bronze itself. The defining feature is the oversized bell: larger, more dominant, with a penetrating bell tone that commands space in any stage mix. The fully raw, unlathed black surface eliminates unwanted overtones and produces an aggressive, focused sound with intense stick response, short decay and controlled dynamics.
Sound Character: Dark, Explosive and Controlled
The Raw Dark Crash in 16” and 18” is a crash cymbal without compromise. The attack is immediate, loud and dark – the raw, black surface gives every crash moment an earthy, aggressive character fundamentally different from polished crash cymbals. The sustain is short and controlled – a precise, explosive sonic burst with defined decay. The 16” model is more compact and direct, the 18” model offers more body and volume for larger stages.
