Turkish Cymbals Lale Kardes Signature Ride – Large, Warm and Washy
The Lale Kardes Signature Series by Turkish Cymbals is the work of one of the most fascinating personalities in the Turkish rock scene: Lale Kardeş – drummer of the bluesy garage-rock trio Ringo Jets – spent over a year collaborating with Turkish Cymbals to develop a series that embodies her very own sound. Inspired by the Blues and Heavy Rock tones of the 1960s and 70s, the result is a set of cymbals unmatched in size and character: large, loud, open and with a long, full shimmer. Every cymbal bears the Hançer logo – a dagger symbol that Kardeş drew herself. The series was featured in the renowned Modern Drummer Magazine in June 2018.
The Largest Ride Cymbals in the Turkish Cymbals Range
The Lale Kardes Signature Ride in 22" and 24" is the most expressive ride cymbal in the entire Turkish Cymbals range – and the largest. In 24" it offers the most voluminous ride experience in the entire brand. The Semi-Thin construction allows the cymbal to vibrate freely, producing a long, musical sustain that carries the groove and lets it flow. Warm, deep and washy – this cymbal reimagines the ride: not as a precision timing instrument, but as a tonally expressive foundation of the groove.
Sound Character: Warm, Washy and Deep
The Lale Kardes Ride delivers a warm, washy-deep sound with a strong, harmonic bell and a clear ping. The wash is broad, open and long-lasting – typical of the vintage rock character of the 1960s and 70s. Despite its massive, loud fundamental character, the cymbal responds sensitively to different playing techniques – from powerful rock grooves to more delicate, articulate moments. The 22" model is somewhat more direct, while the 24" model delivers the full, massive sound that Lale Kardeş conceived for this series.
Applications: Blues, Psychedelic Rock, Rock'n'Roll and Heavy Rock
The Lale Kardes Ride is the instrument for drummers seeking a distinctive, vintage-inspired ride sound. In Blues the warm, deep wash creates an emotional sonic backdrop. In Psychedelic Rock the broad shimmer unfolds its full atmospheric impact. In Rock'n'Roll and Heavy Rock of the 60s and 70s era, the cymbal projects with power and personality – exactly the sound Lale Kardeş had in mind.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every cymbal in the Lale Kardes Signature Series is crafted in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul from the secret B20 bronze alloy – 80% copper, 20% tin – hand-cast, heated, hammered and lathed. These cymbals are the largest in the entire Turkish Cymbals range – a deliberate decision that underscores the vintage rock character of the series. We at Cymballand are proud, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, to bring this craftsmanship directly to you – without intermediaries, at the best price.
