Turkish Cymbals Sehzade Ride Jazz – Light, Sensitive and Versatile
The Sehzade series by Turkish Cymbals – Turkish for “Crown Prince” – is one of the most versatile series in the entire Turkish Cymbals range. Its unique feature is the three-zone surface structure: the outer edge is lathed and bright, a characteristic wide unlathed middle ring gives the sound dark depth and earthy character, and the unlathed bell delivers a dry, clear bell tone. The underside is lathed. This combination creates a cymbal that develops different tonal properties depending on playing position: brighter, energetic response at the outer edge – drier, defined response in the unlathed middle zone. The result is an instrument of extraordinary musicality and versatility.
Sound Character: Thin, Open and Responsive
The Sehzade Ride Jazz in 20”, 21” and 22” is the lighter, more sensitive version of the Sehzade Ride. The Thin construction produces a more open response and a smaller bell sound with a clear ping. The clearly defined ping, the sensitive response and the controlled shimmer make it a perfect cymbal for precise playing in acoustic and electric settings. Despite its jazz-oriented name, its versatile character makes it equally suited to Funk, Punk and Fusion.
