Turkish Cymbals Sehzade Ride Jazz – Bright, open, sensitive
The Sehzade Ride Jazz is a Thin ride cymbal, which makes it lighter than the Sehzade Ride; its bell is smaller, too. It is built like the other cymbals in the series: lathed at the rim and around the bell, raw across the middle ring and on the bell itself.
Sound character: open response, clear ping
Its thin, light build lets it sound brighter than the Sehzade Ride and gives it a more open response. The ping is clearly defined, the bell sounds smaller and more discreet than on the Ride, and the shimmer stays controlled. This cymbal reacts sensitively to fine differences in touch, in acoustic and electric line-ups alike.
Applications: contemporary, funk, fusion, jazz and punk
In jazz, it follows fine nuances right down into quiet passages. Despite its name, you'll also play it in funk and punk for rhythmic patterns, and in fusion when your playing crosses styles. More weight and a bigger bell come with the Sehzade Ride; for short accents, add the Sehzade Splash.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every cymbal in the Sehzade series is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. After that, only the rim, a ring around the bell and the underside are lathed; the wide middle ring and the bell stay raw, so you can see the hammer marks there. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, each one sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
