Turkish Cymbals Sehzade Ride – Delicate ping, controlled wash
Depending on where the stick lands, the Sehzade Ride shows a different side. Its rim is lathed, and so is a ring that circles the bell; between them lies a wide, raw middle ring with visible hammer marks, and the bell is left raw as well. By weight, this ride cymbal falls into the Medium-Heavy class.
Sound character: defined ping, musical bell
The ping is delicate and defined, the stick attack sensitive, and the wash stays under control. Towards the rim, the Ride turns brighter and crisper, with a light shimmer. Since the middle ring stays raw, you get a drier sound there, with more stick definition and less wash. The bell sounds dry and clear, with a deep tone. While the 20" responds faster, the 22" sounds deeper and fills more space.
Applications: contemporary, funk, fusion, jazz, rock and soul
Bell patterns give the rhythm something to hold on to in funk and soul, and in jazz the sensitive stick attack brings depth to your comping. In fusion and rock grooves, you switch between the bright rim and the dry middle ring, drawing different colours from one and the same cymbal. The Thin Sehzade Ride Jazz sounds brighter and has a more open response; the Sehzade Hi-Hat pairs well with the Ride.

Every cymbal in the Sehzade series is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. After that, only the rim, a ring around the bell and the underside are lathed; the wide middle ring and the bell stay raw, so you can see the hammer marks there. Wieder mal ein Volltreffer! Die Hi Hat reagiert sehr schnell und lebendig und der Chick ist gut akzentuiert. Crashes mit tollem Glanz und sehr organischem Ausklang. Und das Ride ist für mich eine echte Überraschung, Sehr klarer Ping mit einem phantasichen Sustain und vor allem genug Körper. Auch gut für leichte Crashes. Das ganze Set bringt Glanz in der Mix, in diesem Falle Rockmusik, es agiert mit Sensibilität und hoher Dynamik. Bülent hat wieder einmal mit exzellentem Spürsinn das richtige Set empfohlen. Eine interessante Mischung aus Splash und Mini Flat Ride. Eine Bereicherung für mein Set Up.
Die Cymbals sind große Klasse, auch die Effekt -Cymbals und Bells verschiedener Serien harmonieren miteinander. Bülent nimmt sich jedesmal alle Zeit der Welt, wenn es darum geht, die passenden Cymbals zusammenzustellen. Super finde ich, dass man auf der Website schon mal probehören kann, sehr hilfreich bei der Vorauswahl. Preis und Leistung stimmen, immer wieder gerne!
Wahrscheinlich meine beste Erfahrung von Beckenkäufen überhaupt! Ich hab in meiner Laufbahn als Schlagzeuger schon einige Becken gekauft und leider auch immer wieder mal, aus mangelndem Wissen, daneben gegriffen. Good dark, complex crash
Really dark, loud hihats, works good as secondary hats for blastbeats when set not too washy.
Sehr schönes Crash-Imitat bei mit Rods gespielten Unplugged-Gigs. Bei lauteren Musikstilen markantes, kurzes Splash, muß aber hier auch hart angespielt werden, um sich durchzusetzen.
Ich habe zum zweiten Mal Becken bestellt ohne sie vorher testen und ich bin auch dieses Mal wieder begeistert. Mein Vertrauen ist nicht enttäuscht worden. Sehr empfehlenswert!
