Turkish Cymbals Cappadocia Crash – Earthy power
The Cappadocia Crash by Turkish Cymbals is a crash cymbal with an earthy, dry sound. The series is named after Cappadocia in Central Anatolia – a landscape of volcanic rock, ancient cave cities and thousands of years of history. The dark hammer pattern and coal-black patina of the Cappadocia cymbals come from deep hammering – and it is exactly this hammering that makes the sound darker, drier and more controlled.
Sound character: earthy, direct and precise
The attack of the Cappadocia Crash is direct and powerful, but never harsh: no shrill highs, just a dark, earthy tone. What follows is a medium-short, dry decay. Its few overtones keep the crash sound focused, so it never floods the mix. The cymbal sounds the way Cappadocia looks: rough, earthy, organic. At the same time, it speaks even when you hit it lightly – from soft brush work to hard stick hits, the sound stays musical and controlled.
Applications: jazz, funk and grunge rock
The Cappadocia Crash is made for drummers looking for an earthy, dark crash sound. In a jazz trio it adds quiet, controlled accents – with brushes, too. In funk, its crashes land precise and dry without getting in the way of the groove. And when the guitars get loud in grunge rock, it shows its full power: rough, dark and direct. That makes it just as much at home in the studio as on stage. Team it up with the Cappadocia Hi-Hat, and your crash accents and groove blend together seamlessly.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every Cappadocia cymbal is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. Because every cymbal is made by hand, no two Cappadocia cymbals have quite the same hammer pattern. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
