Turkish Cymbals Millennium Hi-Hat – Clear, warm chick
The Millennium Hi-Hat is made up of two Medium-Thin hi-hat cymbals that already come close to Thin. The bottom carries a little more weight than the top. Both are finely hammered and lathed.
Sound character: clean stick sound, wide dynamic range
The chick sounds clear, precise and warm. On the closed pair, the stick sound stays clean and defined, from soft strokes to powerful ones. With the hi-hat open, you get a controlled wash that dies away quickly while staying musical. If you want it more direct and faster, go for the 13"; the 14" brings a bit more volume.
Applications: funk, soul, R'n'B, jazz-fusion, traditional jazz, Latin and blues
In funk, soul and R'n'B, even ghost notes stay clearly audible on the Hi-Hat, and in jazz-fusion you can play complex patterns accurately, too. For traditional jazz, it works with brushes just as well as with light sticks, and in Latin and blues grooves, the chick sets the pulse. Anyone looking to complete the series will find the Millennium Ride, the Millennium Crash and the Millennium Crash-Ride alongside it.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every cymbal in the Millennium series is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. After that, every cymbal is lathed and given a slightly polished Traditional finish. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, each one sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
