Turkish Cymbals NJG Splash Sizzle

Turkish Cymbals NJG Splash Sizzle – Complex, Dry and Sonorous

The NJG series (New Jazz Generation) by Turkish Cymbals takes a new approach to jazz cymbal sound: dry, dark, controlled and short. The core of this series is its unique surface – a brush-like finish that creates an even, matte and granular texture on both sides of the cymbal. This texture shortens sustain, reduces uncontrolled overtones and produces an earthy, focused tonal character unreachable with polished or traditional cymbals. The stick sound remains warm and musical – the NJG series sounds dark and controlled without becoming sterile or lifeless.

The Distinctive Feature: Brush-Like Surface and Sizzle Rivets

The NJG Splash Sizzle in 9” is an effect cymbal of particular tonal richness. It combines the dry, dark NJG surface with five sizzle rivets that add a continuous, lively sizzle effect to the short, precise splash sound. The result is an effect cymbal uniting two contrasting sonic worlds: the brevity and directness of an NJG splash with the sustained, atmospheric shimmer of the rivets. A complex, responsive instrument for drummers and percussionists who want to integrate unconventional tonal colours into their setup.

Sound Character: Dry, Complex and Atmospheric

The initial attack of the NJG Splash Sizzle is short and direct – typical of the NJG series. The sizzle rivets extend this sonic moment with a continuous, whispering shimmer that dissolves gently in the room. Thanks to the small 9” size the cymbal responds to the lightest touches – by hand, mallet or sticks – making it interesting for percussionists in acoustic setups as well.

Applications: Jazz-Fusion, Funk, Soul and Acoustic Setups

The NJG Splash Sizzle is aimed at drummers and percussionists who want to add a unique, complex tonal dimension to their setup. In Jazz-Fusion it creates creative effect accents with atmospheric shimmer character. In Funk and Soul it sets short, precise accents with lively sizzle. In acoustic setups and percussion ensembles it delivers unconventional tonal colours for experimental music directions.
