Turkish Cymbals Millennium Crash – Warm and sparkling
Built close to Thin, the Millennium Crash speaks quickly. This crash cymbal belongs to the Medium-Thin weight class and is finely hammered by hand, with visible but shallow hammer marks.
Sound character: direct attack, controlled decay
The attack comes in direct and clear, and the sound is warm and sparkling at the same time. The decay stays controlled and fades out pleasantly. Light strokes are enough to open the Crash up fully – even in quiet passages, you don’t have to hit it hard. The 16" is more direct and drier; with the 20", the sound gets bigger and the decay more open.
Applications: jazz-fusion, soul, funk, R'n'B, traditional jazz, Latin and blues
At the end of a fill in jazz-fusion or at the climax of a soul ballad, the Millennium Crash delivers the accent, and in funk and R'n'B you use it to catch short horn hits. With brushes or light sticks, you can play it very subtly in traditional jazz; in Latin and blues numbers, the Crash adds shine to the accents without drowning out the band. Pair it with the Millennium Ride, the Millennium Crash-Ride and the Millennium Hi-Hat.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every cymbal in the Millennium series is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. After that, every cymbal is lathed and given a slightly polished Traditional finish. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, each one sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
