Turkish Cymbals Lale Kardeş Signature Ride – Broad wash and a strong bell
Lale Kardeş, drummer of The Ringo Jets, modelled the Lale Kardeş Signature Ride on the big rides of 60s and 70s hard rock. It is a Medium-Thin ride cymbal with a Traditional finish.
Sound character: long wash, clear ping
The Ride has a wide, long wash in which the ping stays clearly distinct, and a bell with plenty of power. The overall sound is big, without tipping towards either the bright or the dark side. The 22" sounds a little more direct, the 24" fuller and more voluminous.
Applications: blues, rock'n'roll, psychedelic rock and heavy rock
On slow blues shuffles, the wash spreads wide beneath the groove, and on rock'n'roll numbers you drive the band along on the bell. In extended psychedelic rock jams, you let the Ride ring out freely, and in heavy rock you play straight quarter notes on it while the guitars are turned all the way up. Alongside the Ride, the series includes the Lale Kardeş Signature Hi-Hat and the Lale Kardeş Signature Crash.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every cymbal in the Lale Kardeş Signature series is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. After that, every cymbal is lathed all over, bell and edge included, and given a Traditional finish. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, each one sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
