The ride cymbal is the rhythmic backbone of the kit – the surface on which time, groove and dynamics are carried for hours on end. At Turkish Cymbals, every ride is made 100% by hand in Istanbul: cast from premium B20 bronze (80% copper, 20% tin), hand-hammered and lathed. The result is a defined ping with a balanced sustain and a clearly articulated bell.

From the dry jazz ping to the assertive rock ride

Our range covers the entire sonic spectrum – from dark, dry rides with controlled stick definition and a short wash to brighter, assertive models with full projection. For warm, nuanced time in jazz, funk and soul, the Kurak and Jazz series are ideal. For those seeking a clear, assertive ping in rock, metal or progressive, the Xanthos-Cast and Raw Dark series provide the right voice. Dark vintage tones with a controlled ping come from the Prestige-TR series, while the Vintage Soul series delivers the classic Turkish jazz ride with a crashable character.

Size and weight – what matters

Most of our rides sit in the classic 20″ to 22″ range: a 20″ ride responds faster and crashes flexibly, while 21″ and 22″ models deliver more volume, a clearer ping and longer sustain. For special applications we also carry Flat Rides without a pronounced bell for dry, controlled time, as well as Sizzle Rides with rivets, whose fine wash is especially prized in jazz and the studio. A thin, dark ride suits subtle time-keeping, while a heavy ride with a large bell cuts through loud setups.
