Turkish Cymbals Rock Beat Raw Ride – Big bell, defined ping
Like the Ride Rock, the Rock Beat Raw Ride has a big, strong bell. Weighing in one class lighter, though, the ride cymbal is Medium-Heavy.
Sound character: crisp bell, clear ping
The bell sounds crisp and distinct, and the ping on the bow is clearly defined. Overall, the sound is stable, broad and powerful. It grows fuller with size: from the 20" through the 21" to the 22", the sustain lengthens, the ping stands out more and the cymbal sounds stronger.
Applications: blues, grunge, metal, progressive and rock
In rock and metal, the defined ping holds the band together even with the amps turned up; in grunge and progressive rock, bell figures join in. For blues, the Ride brings a warm character that carries the groove. The Rock Beat Raw Hi-Hat goes well alongside it, and the heavier Rock Beat Raw Ride Rock has even more volume and sustain.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every cymbal in the Rock Beat Raw series is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. As with the Kurak series, the bow and bell remain unlathed; unlike the Kurak, however, the cymbal is finally polished to a mirror gloss. On both sides, the hammer marks show through beneath the gloss. Polishing compacts the bronze, and the sound turns bright. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, each one sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
