Turkish Cymbals Prestige-TR Crash – Dark, warm, expressive
The Prestige-TR Crash is the only crash cymbal in the series and is made in just one size. Like the Ride and the Hi-Hat, it belongs to the Medium-Heavy weight class and wears the same black, matte finish without lacquer.
Sound character: dark attack, controlled decay
The attack is expressive, and then the Crash decays in a controlled way. Its fundamental is dark and warm. It shares the short sustain with the Ride and the Hi-Hat – a result of the dense hammerwork, the light lathing and the blackening.
Applications: traditional jazz, blues, jazz-fusion, Latin, soul, R'n'B and funk
Warm, subtle accents from the Prestige-TR Crash blend into the groove in blues and traditional jazz. The Crash marks dynamic peaks in jazz-fusion with real emphasis, and in soul, funk, R'n'B or Latin, a crash accent stays short and quickly makes room for the band again. Within the series, the Prestige-TR Ride and the Prestige-TR Hi-Hat take care of ride patterns and hi-hat figures.
Craftsmanship from Istanbul – At the Best Price
Every cymbal in the Prestige-TR series is made in the workshops of Turkish Cymbals in Istanbul, where handmade B20 bronze cymbals have been crafted for more than 25 years. The bronze – 80% copper, 20% tin – is cast by hand, heated in traditional furnaces and hammered by experienced master craftsmen, stroke by stroke. After that, the bow and bell are only lightly lathed. Finally, each cymbal goes into the furnace once more and is given its deep-black surface by a special blackening process – without any lacquer. Because casting and hammering are done by hand, each one sounds just a little different. At Cymballand, as the official partner of Turkish Cymbals, we bring this craft straight to you – no middlemen.
